There was much swithering over plans with a forecast of wind and rain. Fortunately the weather ignored the forecast, so one party headed along Borrowdale to Lodore Falls and Watendlath, whilst another went up High Spy, over Maiden Moor and Cat Bells to return alongside Derwentwater. An excellent communal meal rounded off the day.
Sunday’s forecast for a murky day with low cloud was exactly what we got but did not deter us. Great Wood, Walla Crag and Ashness Bridge attracted two parties with one continuing on over Bleaberry Fell and High Seat, both very bleak and boggy.
