A wild and challenging weekend.
The first challenge was getting to Kinlochleven with torrential rain causing more than the usual flooding alongside Loch Lomond with water cascading down the hillsides in torrents and the lochs and rivers swamping any low lying ground.
The second challenge was to get up a hill. One group of three succeeded in reaching the summit of Glas Bheinn, a Corbett, whilst a larger group of seven failed to reach Sgurr Eilde Mor beaten by the wind and difficult underfoot conditions of fresh show, hard icy snow, rocks and boulders.
The third challenge was getting any photographs to show what it was really like being blasted with hail stones, sloshing along boggy paths saturated in water, with little chance of shelter for a bite.
It was however a great weekend, with a meal out on Saturday night, and with little let up in conditions on Sunday morning the Artisan teashop at Dalrigh by Tyndrum was a welcome stop on the way home.
